As the “future city centre in the western part of Xiangjiang-river”, the urban planning of the Meixi Lake area takes the wide water surface as axis and creates a radiating “ferris wheel”. Functions like habitation, culture and education, commerce and business are arranged in circles along the riverside. The location of the conference and exhibition center together with the scientific research center in the south of the lake is considered as the gateway to the central area of Meixi- Lake. The conference and exhibition center is situated not only on the axis of the future urban development, but also on the landscape axis of the CBD core area. The functional cube with integrated column grid is overlapped by a generous roof, where the outlines (skyline, contour line) of the mountain as well as the hill landscape are described. The poetic image of the city that is embedded in the rolling hills is developed.
