Sino-German Ecopark Awarded the First DGNB Urban District Certificate in Gold in China

On Nov. 16, 2018, Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark District C2 was awarded with the first DGNB Urban District Certificate in Gold in China by the German Council for Sustainable Buildings (DGNB)

Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark is a government cooperation project between China and Germany, which locates in the west coast of Jiaozhou bay and in the north of Qingdao Development Zone. Based on the determined development goal, which is the fruitful collaboration between China and Germany, the Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark is destined to become one of the most advanced ecological industry-parks in China that features a highly internationalized eco-enterprise gathering area, a top-notch eco-technology research and development area, and also the livable ecological demonstration zone.

Also other areas of the park excel by adopting proven German practices: the C2 district consists of extremely energy-efficient passive house communities by German standards, generous open and green spaces, as well as the largest DGNB Mixed-Use building complex in Asia, which was awarded with the highest level for the certification system of the German Green Building Board - DGNB Platinum.

OBERMEYER was contributing sustainable key strategies and ecological as well as traffic design enhancements for the deepening of the urban planning, a sustainable landscape design around the German Business Center as well as the concept interior design and interior quality assurance for the German Business Center (Mixed-Use complex) and relevant other adjacent spaces.

Focusing on advanced key strategies as "ecology, low carbon, natural harmony" by reflecting  the location conditions and the natural resources of the park, combined with a balanced positioning of the urban design and ecological landscape planning, OBERMEYER contributed to realize the Sino-German Ecopark to be an ecologically harmonious, low carbon and energy efficient city with international significance.
