OBERMEYER awarded First prize for TOD design by Sichuan Excellent UP

OBERMEYER was awarded with the first prize for its TOD design by the Sichuan Excellent Urban & Rural Planning and Design Initiative

OBERMEYER together with its partner Sichuan Provincial Architectural Design and Research Institute achieved a brilliant solution for the project of "Chengdu Rail Real Estate Group 2018 First Batch TOD Integrated Design Section 3 (Luxiao Station)" and won the first-class prize of the Sichuan Excellent Urban & Rural Planning and Design Initiative.

Luxiao Station is in the Zhonghe area of the high-tech zone in Chengdu “South Extension” key area – along the east-west side of Zhongbai Avenue and the north-south side of Zhonghe First Line Road. The transfer stations of the future Metro Line 6 and the planned Line 22 are within the planning zone. The area of the project is 1,640 mu, comprising a total construction area of approximately 2.08 million square meters.

As the pioneering TOD demonstration site in Chengdu and complying with the guideline principle of “TOD as a Park City Community”, it will serve as the city’s comprehensive TOD development benchmark and model quarter for a park city community. Integrated TOD designs explore a new path of Chengdu’s development from seven aspects: space planning; industrial planning; commercial development; modal transfer; multi-dimensional transportation hubs; station qualities and park-city. As first of its kind this project will favorably reshape the pattern of urban development for Chengdu.
